Zusteller Rally For 6-4 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Regensburg-Leipzig contest at Leipzigerfeld.
The Regensburg Zusteller defeated the Leipzig Kaufmaenner, 6-4, at Leipzigerfeld. Leading the charge for Regensburg was catcher Frank Schumacher. He was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Endres Wodarg, who is tied for 6th in the WLK in saves with 6, earned the save for Regensburg.
Joachim Berne provided a timely hit. The Regensburg right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Zusteller on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Berne told a Regensburg News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
With the win, Regensburg goes to 35-73, while the Kaufmaenner fall to 47-61.
