Hotaru Win with Late Heroics
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Bill Abstein, the Aomori Hotaru clipped the Hakodate Daiouika, 6-5, in 14 innings. Abstein was 3-5 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Aomori reliever Atsuhiro Shimabukuro snagged the win, upping his record to 3-9. Mark Davies shouldered the loss. The loss makes Hakodate 15-31.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With one out, Abstein hit a fastball from Mark Davies for a run-scoring single. The Hotaru, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Abstein told a Aomori Times reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
