Teitoku Park was the site for Southern League action featuring the Kagoshima Teitoku and Seki Katanakaji.

Seki Katanakaji pitcher Yasugi Shiraki was in top form, leading his team past the Kagoshima Teitoku, 4-1. Hideki Uemura earned the save, his 2nd, for the Katanakaji.

Seki used the timely hitting of Takeo Shoda to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Katanakaji on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We'll kick back a while," said Shoda, "and then get ready for the next one."

By defeating Kagoshima, the third-place Katanakaji improved to 27-20.
