The Yamatokoriyama Kingyo reigned over the Kumamoto Kuma in damp conditions.
The Yamatokoriyama Kingyo called upon starter Cleto Villegas, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Kumamoto Kuma, 6-2. Villegas yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-3. Higinio Rodríguez finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Jesús Vázquez had a big run-scoring triple for the Kingyo in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Yamatokoriyama leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Tokutomi Sakai, who is tied for 4th in the SL with a 5.5 K/9 rate, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kingyo ahead, 4-2.

The 'W' lifts Yamatokoriyama's record to 32-16.
