The Aomori Hotaru powered past the Kamakura Kodaibito, 9-3, at Kodaibito Park. Bill Abstein provided some of the pop. Big Bill went 3-3 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Josh Shields got the win, improving to 10-4. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The 4th-place Hotaru sport a record of 31-27.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the second. That's when Abstein hit a slider from Yoshio Ito for a 2-run single, putting Aomori up, 2-0.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Abstein.
