Not everyone stuck through the 55-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Takasaki Sakura picked up a win at Sakura Park, dropping the Aomori Hotaru, 5-4. Cristón Cantú, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a 1.28 WHIP, was the difference-maker. Cantú yielded 4 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 10-3.

In the bottom of the sixth, Takasaki left fielder Harry Hooper had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Aomori hurler Josh Shields, Hooper hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 5-2, Takasaki. For the day, Hooper went 1 for 2 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Cantú. "Successful pitchers do it."

The second-place Sakura now sit at 35-26.
