The Aomori Hotaru beat the Niigata Hakuchoh, 7-5, at Aomori Grounds. Aomori left fielder Gavvy Cravath had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Hotaru now have a record of 40-24.

Aomori took a 6-5 lead on Bill Abstein's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Abstein hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Niigata pitcher Ian Edwards visibly frustrated.
