Independientes Walk It Off for 55th Win of Season
The Maracaibo Independientes claimed a close win over the Merida Caballeros, due in large part to Práxedes Vega. The Maracaibo left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Vega, the winner, moves to 12-8. He threw 9 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The 6th-place Caballeros now sit at 40-48.

Eudoxio Rodríguez was the walk-off hero for Maracaibo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Independientes pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Práxedes did a good job of managing their lineup," said Maracaibo manager Baldomero Neave.
