Soggy conditions did not keep Seki and Matsuyama from playing their scheduled game.

Seki starter Raúl Casas throttled the Matsuyama offense, as the Katanakaji won in a rout, 13-2. Casas, now 7-9, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs.

The fans who filled the stands at Katanakaji Stadium to watch the Southern League action seemed to enjoy the game.

"We hung too many pitches middle-middle," lamented Matsuyama manager Ricardo Santiago.
