The Angostura Amargados picked up a win at Estadio de Nueva Esparta, downing the Nueva Esparta Cunaguaros, 6-3. On the mound for Angostura was right-hander Diomedes Vásquez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Amargados, at 31-29, sit in third place in the Liga Este.

The Amargados took the lead, 4-0, in the top of the fourth inning. Facing Nueva Esparta hurler Carlomaria Coscia with one out, Wilfredo Zavala hit a 2-run single.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Rafael Leyva.
