Though the conditions were not ideal, the Merida Caballeros and Barquisimeto Crepusculares came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Merida Caballeros powered past the Barquisimeto Crepusculares, 11-4, at Caballeros Ballpark. Jimeno Torres went 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He scored 3 runs, to lead the charge. The 6th-place Caballeros have a record of 42-54.
With Merida leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Alfredo de la Cruz hit a run-scoring single off Barquisimeto pitcher Ángel Novoa. It put the Caballeros ahead 5-3.
"When you win, you always have confidence," said Merida skipper Plinio Cardona. "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."
