Estadio de Angostura was the site for Liga Este action featuring the Angostura Amargados and Caracas Sultanes.

The Caracas Sultanes beat the Angostura Amargados, 8-4. Caracas pitcher and Valencia, Venezuela, native Jorge Battistella led the way. The winner was Battistella. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Medardo Crosby.

Caracas used the timely hitting of Enrique Delgado to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sultanes on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Delgado.

The 5th-place Sultanes bumped their record to 47-56.
