A good performance from pinch hitter Cedro Núñez helped the Morioka Ayame defeat the Hakodate Daiouika, 7-5. Núñez went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Ayame. Shigefumi Usui picked up the win in relief. Ryu Nakamura took the loss for Hakodate. The Ayame go to 40-43, putting them 5th in the Northern League.

Núñez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch sinker from Kotaro Kawamura, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Ayame a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Núñez.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Morioka skipper George Fields. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
