Matsuyama picked up a win at Kawauso Stadium, bumping off the Kagoshima Teitoku, 5-4. Pitcher Antonio Jaime was a major reason the Kawauso emerged victorious. Matsuyama reliever Roberto Hernández, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in saves with 9, was credited with the win. His record goes to 7-1. Owen McLean took the loss for Kagoshima. Matsuyama is 50-34 and Kagoshima, with the loss, 45-39.

Yoritomo Nagao won the game with a run-scoring single off Owen McLean in the bottom of the ninth. In the contest, the Matsuyama shortstop went 1 for 2.

"That was a really good outing by Antonio," said Matsuyama manager Ricardo Santiago.
