The Seki Katanakaji defeated the Kagoshima Teitoku, 8-4, at Teitoku Park. Seki was led by 24-year old third baseman Ananías Garza, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs. By defeating Kagoshima, the 4th-place Katanakaji improved to 45-43.

Seki took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Yuzuru Sasaki hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Katanakaji in front, 6-4.

"When you win, you always have confidence," said Seki skipper Darío Mora. "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."
