Aomori Grounds was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Aomori Hotaru defeated the Morioka Ayame in 10 innings, 8-7, in part because of left fielder Kakuzo Okamoto. Okamoto went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Hotaru. The win went to Rubén Rosado in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Rafael Arispe took the loss.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Aomori. That's when Bill Abstein hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Rafael Arispe to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Abstein told a Aomori Citizen reporter that he felt "elated" after the win.

The second-place Hotaru bumped their record to 60-39.
