Fans watched the Fukushima Kamome and the Hakodate Daiouika fight to the finish.

Hakodate got a terrific performance from pitcher Quilvio Andino, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fukushima Kamome. Fukushima won the Daiouika Park contest, 1-0. Andino threw 7.1 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Fukushima is 5th in the Northern League with a record of 47-56.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Rube Ellis came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Hakodate pitcher Kotaro Kawamura, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Fukushima on top, 1-0.

Ellis said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
