Katanakaji Use Late Rally to Win
Despite a great performance by Yamatokoriyama catcher Bert Myers, the Seki Katanakaji defeated the Kingyo by the score of 7-5 at Yamatokoriyama Fields. Myers was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The setback makes Yamatokoriyama 58-48.

The Katanakaji beat the Kingyo in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Masaharu Date produced in the top of the ninth. Batting against C.J. Partlow, Date gave his team the lead, 7-5, when he hit a 2-run single.

"We took home the win," said Date. "What's not to like?"
