The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Matsuyama fans at Kawauso Stadium.

The Seki Katanakaji wasted an impressive 9-inning effort from starter Steve Stewart, falling, 2-1, to the Matsuyama Kawauso in 13 innings at Kawauso Stadium. At 43-71, Matsuyama is in last place in the Southern League.

The Kawauso relied on catcher Quincy Jones for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Jones.
