The Yamatokoriyama Kingyo defeated the Kagoshima Teitoku, 10-8, at Yamatokoriyama Fields. Bert Myers, who is tied for 2nd in the SL with a .410 on-base percentage, was a standout performer for Yamatokoriyama. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 4 he knocked in. The win was credited to C.J. Partlow in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Yugo Toguchi took the loss. The Kingyo go to 55-57, putting them 6th in the Southern League.

The game came to a dramatic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Yamatokoriyama trailing 8-7, Spider Clark hit a fastball from Yugo Toguchi for a 3-run home run. It was the knockout punch the Kingyo needed.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Myers said in his postgame press conference.
