The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Aomori Hotaru beat the Hakodate Daiouika, 9-2, at Aomori Grounds. Aomori first baseman Bill Abstein had an outstanding performance. He went 3-3 with 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Josh Shields, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a 2.60 ERA, was the winner. He's now 16-12. The loser was Dalmacio Lúa.

Making an impact for Aomori was Masahiro Kinoshita. In the bottom of the third inning, the 22-year old right fielder had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 3-1, Hotaru.

"It never gets old," said Abstein. "Winning, that is."

The Hotaru raised their record to 69-45.
