The Kagoshima Teitoku beat the Seki Katanakaji, 8-4, at Teitoku Park. The Teitoku got a fine performance from center fielder Yusuke Shirai, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Diego Torres got the win, improving to 14-10. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Owen McLean recorded his 12th save for Kagoshima.

With Kagoshima trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Shirai hit a slider from Quilvio Argueta for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Teitoku ahead, 3-2.

Shirai said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

Kagoshima sits in third place in the Southern League at 62-54.
