|
Fukuyama got a valiant performance from pitcher Diego Silva, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kagoshima Teitoku. Kagoshima won the game, 3-2. Silva threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Carlos Ornelas, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-11. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 10 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. At 63-55, the Teitoku find themselves in third place in the Southern League.
Motosugu Ishizuka made it 3-2, in favor of Kagoshima when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Teitoku went on to win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kagoshima manager Antonio Castro.
