Jorge Mercado led the charge as the Matsuyama Kawauso defeated the Yamatokoriyama Kingyo, 6-5, in 10 innings at Yamatokoriyama Fields. Mercado, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in triples with 10, went 5 for 6 with a triple and 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Win Mercer in relief. His record improves to 6-8. C.J. Partlow took the loss. The Kawauso improved to 47-77.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Mercado delivered big-time for Matsuyama, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off C.J. Partlow. The game-changing hit put the Kawauso on top, 6-5.
