Road Win Lifts Seki to 1-0 Lead in APS
The Seki Katanakaji powered past the hometown Kumamoto Kuma, 7-5, in the opener of the Pennant Series at Kuma Stadium. Seki catcher Max Rousset was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the hosts. The Katanakaji now lead the series 1-0.

Seki used a well-timed hit by Kean Peck to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Katanakaji ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

Kuma manager Plinio Cortez did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Japan Series."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kuma Stadium in Kumamoto.
