Campeche Takes Campeonato de las Ligas Game 1, Mora Stars
The Campeche Corsarios started the Campeonato de las Ligas in style, downing the visiting Veracruz Vigias at Parque de Campeche by a score of 8-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Corsarios left fielder Josías Mora went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2.

The Corsarios benefited from an error in the bottom of the third inning. Campeche was leading 1-0 when Bonifacio Cruz hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Campeche in front, 2-0.

"There's nothing like the postseason," said Mora, "to ramp up the pressure."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parque de Campeche in Campeche.
