Gamblers Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Championship of New England
The Manchester Gamblers moved to within one game of the Championship of New England, downing the visiting Auburn Cordwainers at Gamblers' Den by a score of 7-3. Gamblers right-hander Harry Felix had a strong outing in which he threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Gamblers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Pennant Championship Series.

Sotero Rivera drove in one run for Manchester. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Rivera had a clutch at-bat. Facing Auburn hurler Armando Dacal, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Gamblers a 4-3 lead.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Manchester Gamblers (probably) 1913 Championship of New England Champions'," Rivera told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gamblers' Den in Manchester.
