Veracruz Breaks Through for First Win in Campeonato de las Ligas; Now Trails 2-1
The Veracruz Vigias nearly wasted a strong game from starter Sebastián Ramírez, but were saved by some timely hitting in a walk-off win over the Campeche Corsarios.

Ramírez was exceptional in the 2-1 win at Parque de los Vigías. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The win allowed Veracruz to cut the Campeche lead in the best-of-7 series to 1-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, with two out and the game tied, 0-0, 29-year old shortstop Ronaldo Morales won it for Veracruz. With a runner on 1st, Morales hit a 1-0 cutter from Guillermo Longoria for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 1-0 win.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Morales told the Veracruz Bulletin.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parque de los Vigías in Veracruz.
