Bratislava Takes 2-1 Lead in Halbfinalen
|
The Bratislava Bojovnitsi moved to within one game of the Europaeischer Meisterschaft, downing the Ljubljana Zmaji on the road at Stadion Ljubljane by a score of 3-2. Bojovnitsi left fielder Bartolomej Chrobák went 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win gives the Bojovnitsi a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Halbfinalen.
Bratislava used the timely hitting of Šimon Hornický to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bojovnitsi on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're feeling good about this," said Bojovnitsi manager Brad Frauhiger. "We have got an advantage now and we just need to keep the pressure on."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stadion Ljubljane in Ljubljana.
