The Barquisimeto Crepusculares powered past the hometown Maracaibo Independientes, 7-4, in the opener of the Serie Preliminar at Estadio de Maracaibo. Barquisimeto starting pitcher Mateus Balieiro threw 9.0 innings allowing 4 runs, to lead the charge. The Crepusculares now lead the series 1-0.
