Valencia, Meteors Wallop Wheelwrights in Game 3 of PCS
The Sudbury Meteors moved to within one game of the National Championship of Canada, downing the Markham Wheelwrights on the road at Markham Stadium by a score of 10-2. Meteors designated hitter Alfredo Valencia was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The win gives the Meteors a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Pennant Championship Series.

With Sudbury leading 5-2 in the top of the fifth, Alfredo Domínguez hit a 2-run single off Markham pitcher Miguel Fragoso. It put the Meteors ahead 7-2.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Markham manager Turlough Conner. "We got trounced."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Markham Stadium in Markham.
