Jardineros Even With Independientes After Home Win
The Maracay Jardineros got a complete game effort from starter Julio Berrones to move into a 1-1 tie with the Maracaibo Independientes in the best-of-5 Serie Eliminatoria.

The Maracay left-hander went the distance at Jardines de Maracay, cooling off the Maracaibo Independientes and striking out 1 to help Maracay take the 5-1 win that knotted the series.

Adam Robb dealt the Independientes a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Maracay leading 1-0, Robb, who finished 3rd in the LO in slugging percentage with .506 in 1913, hit a 2-0 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We are one step closer to our ultimate goal of bringing a title back to the people of Maracay," Berrones said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jardines de Maracay in Maracay.
