The Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela hopes remain strong for the Maracay Jardineros.

The team tonight eliminated the Maracaibo Independientes with a 3-1 win, to capture the Serie Eliminatoria 3-1.

"We're rolling now," said Eudoxio Maldonado, who was named series MVP. "The pitchers are pitching, hitters are hitting, look out. I expect us to pick our game up to another level in the Campeonato de las Ligas."

The standout offensive performance from Maldonado included a .583 batting average, .643 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, 0 RBI and 3 runs scored.
