Mayabeque Draws First Blood in Campeonato Nacional de Cuba With 4-1 Win
The Mayabeque Alacranes started the Campeonato Nacional de Cuba in style, winning on the road against the Las Tunas Escultores at Estadio de los Escultores by a score of 4-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Alacranes right-hander Bill Lelivelt threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball.

The Alacranes ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth. The score was 1-0, Mayabeque, with two out. Las Tunas, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, had Ernesto Malavé at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he grounded out and the Alacranes went on to win.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de los Escultores in Las Tunas.
