Mayabeque Wins Again, 2-1
Zacarías Jiménez pitched a gem to help the Mayabeque Alacranes escape with a tight, 2-1 victory over the Las Tunas Escultores in a low-scoring Campeonato Nacional de Cuba contest. The right-handed Jiménez threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Alacranes on a day when their offense dried up. Mayabeque now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.

Jiménez threw well for Mayabeque, thwarting the Las Tunas offense. The right-hander tossed 109 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 5 hits.

Mayabeque manager Bernal Echevana called it "a pretty good win."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 3rd , 1913 at Parque de los Alacranes in San José de las Lajas.
