Atunes Hang 6-4 Loss on Heroes

The Cumana Atunes defeated the Guatire Heroes, 6-4, in Liga Este action at Parque de Cumana. Cumana pitcher Fulco García had a standout performance. García yielded 4 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 14 hits, walked 4, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-1. The second-place Atunes are now 47-38, the Heroes 34-50.
In the bottom of the second, Cumana second baseman Eugenio García had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, García stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Cumana. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," García told the Cumana News.
