Escultores Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Campeonato Nacional de Cuba
|
The Las Tunas Escultores are one game away from a sweep after beating the visiting Holguin Pericos, 8-3, at Estadio de los Escultores. Escultores left-hander Raúl Ozuna had a standout performance in which he threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Las Tunas now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Campeonato de las Ligas.
Ozuna had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth to put Las Tunas in front, 6-1. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run off Holguin pitcher Scannell Taylor.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Ozuna.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de los Escultores in Las Tunas.
