Both teams had their chances, but the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles eventually prevailed.

The Puerto La Cruz Timoneles eked out a 3-2 win versus the Cumana Atunes at Estadio de Puerto La Cruz. Nobody did more than pitcher Casimiro Ríos. He was terrific. Ríos got the win, improving to 10-12. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Had Luis Frías not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Frías hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Timoneles.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Ríos said.
