Noble Handcuffs Hellfire, Rum Runners Seize 3-1 Advantage in WPC
|
Medicine Hat had trouble with Moose Jaw starter William Noble, who frustrated Hellfire hitters, as the Rum Runners cruised to victory, 8-1, in Game 4 of the Western & Plains Championship. The Rum Runners now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the left-handed Noble, who controlled Medicine Hat throughout the contest and threw 9.0 innings of 2-hit ball.
Noble was in the zone all game. He frustrated Medicine Hat hitters while giving the Rum Runners 9 innings of quality work. Noble threw 96 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Moose Jaw manager Orlando Mondragón.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hellfire Park in Medicine Hat.
