Division Series Goes the Distance, Waterville Prevails
To the chagrin of fans everywhere, Northern New England Association Division Series had to end eventually.

But pushed to the final game, it was the Waterville Elms coming out on top of the Bennington Melodeons in the classic series. Waterville won the final game by a score of 4-3 and took the series 4-3.

"The final game of the series is tough on the nerves whether you're a fan or a player," said Waterville right-hander José Ocampo. "I think we did a good job of controlling our nerves and doing the job necessary to win."

Ocampo was named series MVP, as he put up a 0.48 ERA over 18.2 innings pitched. He added 21 strikeouts with a 2-1 record.

The Waterville Elms will play against the Derry Spuds in the next round. Derry won their series against the Bangor River Hogs 4 games to 1. The Pennant Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
