Behind a bravura effort from starter Ewan Baxter, the Perth Caber Tossers topped the London Fog by the score of 4-1 and got their first win in the 1908 Crown of the Four Flowers. Baxter threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the Caber Tossers. The win moves Perth into a 1-1 tie with London.

Baxter was effective for Perth, seldom allowing the Fog to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 122 pitches over 8.2 innings. He limited London to just 1 run on 5 hits.

"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Baxter. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 5th , 1908 at Perth Fields in Perth.
