Waterville Win to Pull Even With Derry
The Waterville Elms and the Derry Spuds will take the Pennant Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Elms beat the Spuds, 4-2, at The Patch to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Waterville right-hander Bolívar Carabajal had a big role in the win. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball.

Waterville got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Derek Day. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Elms ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Elms manager Esteban Banegas said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Patch in Derry.
