Habana starter Kayne Ariss turned in an exceptional performance at Parque de los Leones to force the Leones and the Matanzas Henequeneros into a decisive Game 5. The left-handed Ariss threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball in a must-win situation against Matanzas, leading the way for the 6-2 Habana win. The winner of the series will advance to the Campeonato de las Ligas.

Had Kyle Hammer delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hammer grounded out. The score remained 4-2, Habana, and the Leones were out of the jam.

The next game is set to be played for Friday, November 20th , 1908 at Campo de Matanzas in Matanzas.
