Puerto La Cruz Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in CNV
|
Starter Julián Pérez was sensational for the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles in his team's 4-2 triumph over the Coro Bizantinos in Game 3 of the Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela. Pérez pitched well, but Puerto La Cruz picked up the win to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
Pérez had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth to put Puerto La Cruz in front, 4-2. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single off Coro pitcher José Shaefer.
Puerto La Cruz manager Egidio Martínez praised his team's "energy."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de Puerto La Cruz in Puerto la Cruz.
