Bayamo Breaks Through for First Win in Campeonato de las Ligas; Now Trails 3-1
The 1908 Campeonato de las Ligas have been an ordeal for the Bayamo Rafagas, but they had some fun today.

Bayamo squashed the Holguin Pericos by the a score of 10-6 in Game 4 at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin and managed to avoid a series sweep. Rafagas catcher Manuel Rosales, 26, went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the contest. The Bayamo win means the club now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Evaristo Flores was at the plate when Bayamo scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rafagas to go in front, 7-6.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Bayamo manager Robert Faure.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin in Holguín.
