Parque de los Leones was the site of a competitive game between the Cienfuegos Elefantes and Habana Leones.

The Cienfuegos Elefantes got a sterling performance from third baseman Santiago Mireles, but the Habana Leones still prevailed, 3-2. Mireles was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. Clyde Fitzgerald picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Benjamin McDougall suffered the loss.

Luis Cornejo dealt the Elefantes a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Habana leading 2-1, Cornejo hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single.

Cornejo told a Habana Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The Leones, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.
