The Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises picked up a win at El Monasterio, dropping the Bayamo Rafagas, 3-2. Esteban Cortés, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Monjes Grises organization, was the difference-maker. Héctor Montes earned the save, his 1st. Bayamo drops to 7-7.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Euríalo Rodríguez was at the plate when Ciego de Avila scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Monjes Grises to go in front, 3-2.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Rodríguez.
