Luna, Elefantes Too Much for Marmoleros
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cienfuegos Elefantes take on the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros.

Behind a solid performance from second baseman Raúl Luna, the Cienfuegos Elefantes defeated the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros, 5-1. Luna went 3-3 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Elefantes. The loss drops Nueva Gerona to 9-12.

With Cienfuegos leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Luna batted against Nueva Gerona pitcher Evandro Martín. Luna hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season put the Elefantes on top, 4-0.

Said losing manager Julián Maciel: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
