The Habana Leones downed the Mayabeque Alacranes, 8-5. The hitting star was second baseman Plinio Reyes. Reyes was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Leones. Calvagh O'Sullivan nailed down his 4th save. Habana, at 22-17, holds down second place in the Torneo Occidental La Habana.
Had José Ortiz not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ortiz hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Leones.
