Leopardos Rally For Late Win Over Guajiros
Santa Clara and Pinar del Rio got after it at El Campo de los Guajiros.

The Santa Clara Leopardos overcame a pretty good performance by Pinar del Rio catcher Declan Rankin, beating the Guajiros, 9-7, at El Campo de los Guajiros. Rankin went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The third-place Leopardos are 26-25.

Santa Clara used the hitting of Brendan Lea to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Leopardos on top, 9-7. For the game, Lea had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Lea.
